An engineer by profession, Radwa Rustom’s post-college journey saw her engaged in diverse roles, all aligned with cleaner and healthier living. From crafting robust structures to spearheading environmental projects, she harnessed solar energy and innovation to drive positive and sustainable changes. A fellowship from the DO School acted as an impetus for Radwa and catalyzed the birth of ‘Hand Over,’ an ingenious social enterprise utilizing sustainable construction techniques for an eco-friendly society. Radwa’s involvement with issues like affordable housing, innovative designs and reduced construction pollution charts out her journey clearly. She also nurtures emerging talents in the field, to build a taskforce for the future.
Radwa's accomplishments have earned her recognition. She was acknowledged as a young leader at the Westerwelle Foundation conference and featured in the "100 Most Powerful Arabs Under 40". She was also chosen to be the winner in the "Women for Resilient Cities" competition, organized by the World Bank. Radwa was recently awarded the prestigious Echoing Green fellowship which further established her status as an inspiration and a powerful voice in mapping a sustainable society.
