Toys for refugees

As a group CSR activity, the recently concluded Toys For Refugees was well on course. It proved to be very popular with all participants, achieved all goals and then opened doors to more. Starting with an ice-breaker activity, and anchored around thought-provoking presentations on the global refugee crisis, the main event served up a large measure of fun – Doll Making for a Deserving Cause. The simple act of sitting down with colleagues and making stuffed penguins out of socks and felt was a deeply therapeutic exercise. The fact that these handmade dolls will bring cheer to little children living in refugee camps made it deeply meaningful. And finally, almost everyone in attendance has resolved to explore other ways to help refugees.
